Joel
With over 20 years of mechanical and industry experience at bike shops in Charlottesville, Chicago, New York, and Oakland, Joel finally came home to Richmond to put down roots. After working at Re-Cycles for 5 years, in 2018 Joel became owner of the local bike shop and has since been making all your bike dreams come true.
Ethan
Ethan joined us in 2023 from Portsmouth, VA. He quickly fit right into our family here at ReCycles. He feels equally at home rebuilding a three-speed hub as part of a vintage restoration as he does dialing in a Di2 drivetrain or tuning/troubleshooting a modern commuter. When he’s not wrenching and making people smile at ReCycles, he’s adventuring with his two-year-old son, playing soccer, and debating the finer points of Tolkien and Lucas.
Skylar
Skylar is a service technician at Re-Cycles. His mechanical experience started as a helicopter mechanic in the Navy. He has done plenty of overnight trips in the local area with hopes of completing some longer and more challenging rides. He is constantly upgrading his personal stable of bikes, and is eager to get yours dialed in next. His favorite thing to do on the bike is to find new local trails.
Tyler
Tyler’s background is rooted in the visual arts and woodworking. He has worked in and around the entertainment industry and in custom woodworking, milling and banjo building for 20 years. Holds a unique combination of skills and abilities, familiar with “something from nothing” fabrication ethos. A self-proclaimed mountain bike connoisseur; his collection of bikes are hard-hitting shredders. When he’s not at work, he’s planning the next Van/Bike trip to some of our nations best bike parks & trail systems. Favorite local single tracks include: JT trail, Buttermilk, Blue Jay Way to Moonshine jumpline, Loop C, Blueberry DH & Ska Mother.
